In Persian and Zoroastrianism lore, Zarik (or Zarich), the arch-demon of evil thirst and is a Daeva in the service of Ahriman. Oft-depicted in female form, Zarik is the daeva personification of aging. Zarika is paired with Taru (evil hunger) and makes poison for Taru to give to plants and animals. Her amesha rival counterpart is Ameretat.
